Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lee Mullins of Bluefield West Virginia spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. George E. Knight of 307 Boulevard. Their daughter Audrey Jane Knight returned from Lees-McRae College Banner Elk for the weekend. Mrs. J Fredrick of English Street Extension Route 4 Thomservation plans major surgery later this week.
The Philomathean Club will hold its regular meeting Friday afternoon at 219 Lind say St the home of Mrs O P Moffitt. Mrs Ralph Parker will present the program and the session will begin at 3 oclock.

Veterans of Foreign Wars and its auxiliary from Asheboro hosted a Tenth District dinner and meeting. High Point Post 1960 auxiliary members attended, as did Post 619 from High Point with several members. The gathering included reports from 12 auxiliaries, a 100 percent membership note from Madison, and a talk on benefits for veterans widows and orphans. The next district meeting is planned for Lexington in January.
