Fatal crash near Cape May kills three Army aviators
A Martin bomber en route from Mitchel Field to Langley Field crashed near Cape May Court House New Jersey, killing Captain Robert A. Kinloch of South Carolina Lieutenant Abbot C. Martin of Reading Massachusetts and Staff Sergeant Joseph Coulston of Norristown Pennsylvania. Investigators believe motor trouble caused loss of control in gusty winds over Wildwood and Benny’s Banding area. The bodies were moved to an undertaker in Cape May Court House pending Washington instructions. Kinloch had a 30 day leave and planned to finish travel by train. A separate real estate transfer and eighteen deeds were recorded in the Register of Deeds Office, including a $20,000 lot sale fronting North Main Street.
