Deadlock in U.N. Council Ballot Halts Two Nations

In a 111 nation General Assembly vote the two thirds requirement was not met by Czechoslovakia or Malaysia. Ivory Coast and Bolivia surpassed the threshold for nonpermanent seats while Bolivia and Ivory Coast secured the two open spots. The five permanent members are the United States the Soviet Union Britain France and Nationalist China.

Hotta Eyes Return of Teamsters to AFL-CIO

Badgley Denies Intention Of Putting Blue On Spot

Republican Rep. Donald Badgley said he left the House before the third reading vote on a constitutional amendment to alter General Assembly make up to avoid party pressure.
