High Point College trustees adopted a 1971 72 operating budget of 2 452 600 while closing the prior year with a balanced audit. Officers were re elected including Holt McPherson as chairman and Horace Haworth as vice chair. Endowment tops 3.94 million and campus projects proceed ahead of schedule.

All-America Youth Clubs Keep High Point Kids Busy
The High Point YWCA gym hosts All-America Youth Clubs for 6 to 13 year olds from eighteen area schools. Emphasizing character citizenship fun and fitness and aquatics the program offers trampoline rings tumbling and relays plus a water safety ladder of activities led by four water safety instructors. Transportation to the YMCA is provided by four buses and two vans with fees covering the service. A detachment of Green Beret soldiers from Ft. Bragg arrives in High Point at 10 a.m. en route to Fayetteville retracing the historic Old Plank Road from Bethania to Fayetteville. Rex Plastics to Trim Week in Thomasville
Rex Plastics Inc in Thomasville will shift to a 3 day 42 hour work week starting Nov 1 for its 142 extruding division employees.
