Brisbane reports the introduction of the Unemployed Workers bill in parliament. It creates an unemployment insurance fund funded by employer assessments and overseen by a newly formed Unemployment Council. For 1919 each employer pays $10 per worker. future rates set by the minister on council recommendation.
The City of High Point passes an ordinance adopting the S R S septic privy as standard and allows other privies only by special permission. The city offers Sanisep privy tanks at cost to residents and nonresidents within corporate limits or outside it may apply.
