Sen. Hubert H. Humphrey endorsed UAW goals at its convention in Atlantic City, labeling Eisenhower a veto-minded administration. He urged a strong civil rights bill and backed federal aid to education, higher minimum wage, and medical care for the elderly amid 1960 presidential prospects.
