Lower draft age would affect surprisingly few North Carolinians
Raleigh October 14 The lowering of the draft age to include 18 year olds would affect a surprisingly small number of North Carolinians according to State Selective Service officials. Of about 86 642 men in that age group thousands already have joined the armed services and about 3 000 college students are in the enlisted reserves. Many younger men are likely employed in defense jobs.
