In Elvaton Maryland 16 year old Stuart Kreiner was charged with first degree murder in the stabbing deaths of 10 year old Deborah Hogan 8 year old Theresa Hogan and 8 year old Ann Marie Brzeszkiewicz. Authorities planned to try him as an adult and he faced arraignment in Harundale District Court. The suspect lived in the Southgate neighborhood and had been involved in the Brownie troop with the victims.
A study in the New England Journal of Medicine shows 17 percent of Americans trained abroad passed the internal medicine certification test in 1976, compared with 80 percent from U S and Canadian schools. The report notes increasing numbers of Americans seeking foreign medical education due to limited slots in U S schools.
