High Point Youth Serves Aboard U S Cruiser Portsmouth
John C. Riggs of 1120 Adams Street High Point serves as ship's serviceman second class USN aboard the light cruiser USS Portsmouth. The Portsmouth has conducted reserve training cruises to Caribbean ports after commissioning at Norfolk in 1945 and assignments with Cruiser Division Ten in the Mediterranean including later serving as flagship for the Commander Naval Forces Mediterranean.
