Mass Grave Planned as Vaiont Disaster Death Toll Climbs

In Belluno Italy more than 10 000 workers labored to recover bodies from the Vaiont Dam disaster and bury them to prevent disease. Premier Giovanni Leone toured the area as authorities feared further landslides and warned residents nearby. Up to 3 000 believed dead with 600 bodies recovered, rescue aircraft from Switzerland and U S helicopters assisting Italian forces.
