Downie Brothers Circus Arrives in High Point Parade
Thousands lined Welch Field and downtown High Point for the Downie Brothers Circus parade and matinee. The show featured motorized floats, camel and elephant acts, Mexican wire artists, three rings, and a well organized big top with prime seating and bright lighting. A reporter toured the grounds, spoke with barkers in multiple languages, and observed performers practicing new stunts under the veteran clown’s guidance.
