Avoiding a Throw-In in a Bridge Slam Deal
In this deal South uses a convention showing aces to infer solid clubs. After an opening diamond king, South wins and draws trumps, then runs clubs while West discards spades. With West marked by the singleton queen of diamonds, a correct throw-in could force a spade exit. West’s passive play seals the slam loss.
