Masters Singers Record Telephone Directory Song
Four British teachers calling themselves the Master Singers recorded part of London's 3,628 page telephone directory without permission. The GPO ruled the names and numbers are copyright and the project had to be scrapped, despite prior success with a highway code record. George Martin, the producer, noted the idea as a potential hot property.
