Appeal for More Fervent Prayer by Stephens
Rev George Stephens evangelist urged fervent prayer in a morning service to save the city. He pressed men to support the meeting while women prayed and worked, warning against popularity over God and stressing a backbones need. He cited Peter's prison escape and urged personal repentance and humility for true prayer. He urged business leaders and young men to attend Sundays after praying women and warned of indifference dampening the revival.
