Dr Carl Walker 57 a retired Army physician from Asheboro and Randolph County family, was fatally injured when struck by a Packard driven by a Lampton man as he crossed near the Misses Bostic home. He was taken to a hospital in High Point with skull fracture and injuries. The driver left scene but stopped after the affair was noted. Dr Sumner treated him at the scene and hospital. Dr Walker had served 26 years in the U S Army and lived with his father Col J E Walker in the Asheboro area before moving to Randleman.
