Gleason's Opening Show Falls Short On Script
TV critic Charles Mercer notes Jackie Gleason's CBS debut lacks punch due to weak script though Gleason and Hackett show promise. Ray Bloch conducts a smooth band. Fenwick Babbitt and a fur salon bit mark Gleason's stronger moments. Cliff Arquette also profiled as a Civil War museum curator in Gettysburg setting.
