Rare Early Book Art show opens at High Point Library
A 39 leaf collection from 15th and 16th centuries on loan from North Carolina Museum of Art will be displayed in the High Point Public Library Audio Visual Room daily 9 am to 6 pm except Sundays. The opening program includes a 4 pm film The Flower of History about 15th century illumination.

Multiple crashes mar Saturday in High Point traffic report
Police charged Ted Wayne Barnes 22 with failing to slow for an accident and driving wrong way after a 1 50 a m collision with a tree on Ferndale Boulevard near Florham Drive. A three car wreck at Vail and Fairview streets caused damages totaling 675 with Overcash charged for drunk driving. A dairy truck and two autos collided at W Lexington Avenue and Pinehurst Street causing 2,275 in damages. Sherry Hartman cited for red light violation after collision at Westchester and Country Club Drives. Bates and Prillaman in Montleu Avenue Willenberg Terrace crash with Bates cited for failing to yield.

High Point Fire Prevention Week Sees Junior Fire Marshals
High Point elementary students in grades one through three will become Junior Fire Marshals during National Fire Prevention Week October 3 to 11. City firemen will visit schools to issue home safety check lists, award badges, and conduct drills. Capt T G Shelton leads the fire prevention bureau in directing activities, with visits to industrial plants and civic clubs planned.
