Moscow reports the Soviet space laboratory will reach 4 350 miles from the moon on Tuesday and take mankind's first photos of the moon's far side. Tass says the station separated from its rocket stages and will pass around the moon before returning to Earth.
Bishop Paul N. Garber of Richmond declares a great revival can come to eastern North Carolina if people accept Jesus Christ and join churches. Gov. Hodges praises the rally and calls eastern North Carolina a potential paradise with strong labor and climate advantages.
London reports Prime Minister Harold Macmillan and Labour leader Hugh Gaitskell clashed over class in final campaign days before Thursday's election. Both leaders accused the other of snobbery as polls show a neck and neck race with three days to go and undecided voters a decisive block.
An anticipated crowd of over 92 000 fills Memorial Coliseum as the Dodgers beat the White Sox 3 1 to take a two to one lead in the best of seven series. Carl Furillo drove in the decisive runs in the seventh inning. Larry Sherry closed out the win.

Manila AP reports Defense Secretary Neil H. McElroy states the latest Soviet space satellite proves Soviets have more powerful boosters than the United States. He says the U S cannot match such performance until it develops stronger rocket boosters, a process that could take up to a year.
NASA scientist Dr. Homer Newell Jr notes the Soviet satellite could yield key data on space near Earth and the moon. If it achieves a far side orbit, it may study radiation, magnetic fields, cosmic dust and radio wave behavior, surpassing prior U.S. and Soviet probes in range.

Chemstrand begins a multi million dollar research lab in North Carolina at the Research Triangle Park. The two story main block with a three story center section will house reception offices library cafeteria and over 450 researchers by 1963. Wigan Abbott Corp designed the brick and glass building and Daniel E A O Neal Jr will build it.
Soviet Premier Khrushchev heads home from Peiping after five day visit with Mao Tze tung. He says peace forces are stronger than ever and the world socialist system will end the cold war. He spoke at Peiping airport about talks with Eisenhower and celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Communist takeover.
Premier Nikita Khrushchev toured the Dalzavod ship repair yards at Vladivostok according to Tass. He flew in from Peiping after attending Red China’s 10th birthday celebrations at the Siberian base.
In Palm Springs the White House and 10 Downing Street offered divergent views on a possible East West summit. Macmillan, campaigning in a hot election year, signaled openness to a meeting while Hagerty said no agreement exists until allied countries respond. Eisenhower’s stance remained unchanged, with no final decision announced.
