The Garnet Awards were announced at the Little Theatre annual Beaux Arts Ball held Friday at Sedgefield Country Club. The event named the man and woman with the most original costumes and featured members posing with the award recipients.
Current events were discussed at the Mid-Week Study Club meeting held Wednesday. Hostess Mrs George Haltom welcomed 13 members at her Brantley Circle home and members split into two groups for programs. Mrs Holt McPherson presided over the business meeting.
Miss Elizabeth Reese and Mrs Aroos Ragan Kearns Jr will be honored at two parties next week. Kearns, formerly Elizabeth Gayle Cooper of Henderson, wed in Henderson on Sept 6. Reese will marry David Livingstone Ward Jr on Nov 1 at Wesley Memorial Methodist Church.
High Point Camellia Club will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at 01 Edgedale Dr hosted by Mrs. Sloan Gibson with Mrs. James Gilliam as associate hostess. Mrs. J W Coltrane and Mrs. Vernon Wendler will present slides and highlights from their Europe trip.
The Till n Toil Garden Club announces a gathering to discuss garden projects and community work. Members and neighbors are invited to share ideas, plan volunteer efforts, and set upcoming meeting dates.
