Turks Accept Allied Note Aims at Final Peace Talks
In Constantinople on October 4 the Turkish nationalists accepted in principle the allied note on eastern settlement. General Harington said Mudania talks proceed well and Ismid Pasha ordered nationalist troops to avoid contact with the British. The joint note to Mustafa Kemal Pasha urged a conference in Venice or elsewhere with plenipotentiaries from Britain France Italy Japan Romania Yugoslavia and Greece to negotiate a final peace treaty among Turkey Greece and the allies.
