Mrs. John L. Crocker, 30, convicted of manslaughter for the fatal shooting of her former husband Aug 26 1952 near Stantonsburg. A four to eight year term was imposed after a three day trial marked by emotional testimony about alleged rape and forced sex acts. Her attorney filed notice of appeal to the State Supreme Court and an appearance bond of 10000 was set.
