Stolen Money Recovered From Old House
Belmont North Carolina police recovered sixty three thousand seven hundred fifty dollars from an abandoned four room house in Lowell near Belmont. The money was part of a one hundred thousand dollar theft reported September from the Arnolds of Cherokee. James Harland Kirkland twenty three, charged with grand larceny and second degree burglary, led officers to the stash and to the river where he said he threw bundles of currency.
