Thief Leads Officers Long Chase Before His Capture

Redman Smith of Chatham Virginia led state patrolmen Randolph County deputies and Asheboro and Randleman police on a long chase through last night. He evaded, was jailed in Asheboro, escaped, then recaptured, and finally surrendered near Randleman. He faces charges of highway robbery and driving under the influence. Smith said he was born and raised in South Carolina.

Trade Body Heads Meet To Study Monetary Questions

Directors of the Chamber of Commerce of the United States gathered in Washington to study social and economic issues including monetary developments. Reports from special committees were ready as the fall meeting continued through tomorrow.
