Hurricane Ginger damaged soybeans corn and peanuts across eastern North Carolina with winds and rain blowing down stalks and reducing yields. Much of the corn had already been picked but remaining fields faced severe losses and delaying harvests while experts estimate several million dollars in damage.
Creedmoor North Carolina AP Fourteen Stem High School freshmen and two drivers were injured in a collision between a school bus and a tractor trailer. Three pupils were critically hurt with head chest and internal injuries. Names include Jack Johnson David Harp Marshall Bean Janet Clayton.
