Law Of Averages Favors The Democrats Organizing House
Washington Oct 1 The law of averages favors the democrats organizing the next Congress. Over years death rates of republican and democratic members average alike with more than a dozen deaths annually. Of 11 representatives elected to the seventy second Congress who have died seven were democrats and four republicans. Democrats filled most vacancies, republicans four. After yesterday’s Missouri seventh district victory both parties hold 214 seats, labor party one. Two months remain before congress convenes, making further vacancies unlikely to be filled. An Oct 13 special will fill Wisconsin’s first district seat vacated by Henry Allen Cooper. Republicans expect an easy win. Remaining vacancies are to be filled Nov 3. A one mile railroad connecting Stanwood and East Stanwood Washington remains in operation after 40 0 years.
