Historical Past On Display In Scenic Alexandria
In 1755 Braddock and two British regiments arrived in Alexandria Va to plan a campaign against French Canadians along the Ohio River. Washington prepared to join the ill fated expedition from Mt Vernon as Braddocks staff met royal governors to discuss colonial taxation. Restoration of Ramsay House and nearby historic sites in Alexandria continues for Bicentennial visitors with landmarks including Stabler Leadbeater Apothecary, Gentry Row, Captain's Row, Gadsbys Tavern and the Friendship Fire Co museum.
