Nashville attorney Fred Thompson claims in his book that several figures including Jack Anderson William Haddard A J Woolston Smith Lawrence OBrien John Stewart may have had advance knowledge of plans for the Watergate burglary. He cites committee findings and a pre burglary letter describing an intelligence operation. He found no hard proof, but calls it a historically interesting question.
