Three young Black men from New Mexico fled a patrol stop after gunning a trooper and hijacking a Trans World Airlines 727. They flew to Havana, leaving 43 passengers at Tampa during refueling. Cuban authorities then took the suspects into custody on landing at Jose Marti Airport.

The Castrejon Diaz family paid 200000 dollars Saturday to secure the release of eight of nine prisoners held by the Vicente Guerrero Revolutionary Freedom Committee. Dr Jaime Castrejon Diaz rector of the University of Guerrero, industrialist and former Taxco mayor, was kidnapped on November nineteenth in Guerrero state. The group demanded terms in a letter to a local TV station, with no word on the rector’s release date.
