About 400 attendees are expected for the North Carolina American Legion post officers conference in Goldsboro with speakers including U S Senator Umstead Mrs John B Kirkpatrick and C M Wilson, national chief of membership and post activities.
The Tower players at High Point College, composed of ministerial students and music majors, stage Claudia under director Betty La Roach Taylor. The community supports this amateur group as they grow from The Drunkard to more complex productions with improving lighting and equipment.

The Woman's Auxiliary of Home Moravian Church hosts a Candle Tea from 2 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday December 4 5 in the Brother's House South Main Street. Coffee and cake are served and an exhibition of candle making for the Christmas Eve Love Feast will be shown.
