Officials Must Not Favor Party
Buenos Aires November 26 President Rigoyen asked Congress to pass a law barring government officials from using influence for private interests in transactions with the state. They would be forbidden from participating directly or indirectly in such deals. The proposal followed a committee's appointment to probe charges that Finance Minister Salaberry favored firms in which he had interests regarding planting permits for sugar exports, petroleum transport, and customs observance.
