PEMBROKE Ga November 25 A Thanksgiving turkey hunter killed his aunt after mistaking a red kerchief for a cock's comb and fatally shooting her. William E Ruff 29 Savannah and Bertha Goodman 35 Savannah were identified as the victims. Ruff then killed himself in the brush after realization and reported by Sheriff FE W Miles.
The Federal Reserve reports average American income 90 per cent higher than 1939 and consumer spending at 93.10 per 100 after taxes in Q3. Wage income leads with a 19 percent postwar rise, total income about 210.6 billion dollars yearly, near pre-crisis peak. Farm and dividend incomes show strong gains, while postwar growth remains uneven.
Cecil E. Travis of the City Bureau of Power and Light reports a quail hunt near Ventura south of Conejo pass. He found the second quail’s head wrapped around a roll of greenbacks totaling 52 dollars in various bills. He notes the money had weathered like parchment.

WARSAW NOV 25 A man was killed when his oil tanker truck overturned on highway 421 near Warsaw pinning David Neal Haney 29 of Autreyville Rt 2 in the cab the highway patrol said Haney apparently dozed at the wheel in the fatal crash.

A fire at a North Carolina State College dairy barn caused estimated damage over 40 thousand dollars. No cattle were harmed as they had been turned out to pasture. Fire started in the hay loft and burned for four hours before being controlled with pond water. Chancellor J W Harrelson cited 40 to 50 thousand dollar loss and suggested no link to earlier arson attempts on campus.
Martin Watson, about 50, of Spray, was killed at 6:53 a m when struck by a car along Fieldcrest road in Draper. The driver, Richard Hedgepeth of Warrenton, faces a manslaughter charge with $3,000 bond set after authorities said the car sideswiped a Draper taxi before crashing into a house nearby.
