Hot Water From Well Gets Hotter
Monmouth Iowa farm family Chalmer Lovedahl reports his 30 foot well now yields water warmer than usual. A state Water Survey Board chemist recorded 101 degrees, thermometer later showing 110 degrees after Friday. Even after pumping 150 gallons the temperature stayed at 110 degrees. No explanation for warming water as air cools. one theory cites an underground coal seam nearby.
