Hope Fades for Fast Start on Catholic Hospital

Indications show the planned $1,000,000 Catholic hospital near High Point is unlikely to open soon. A convalescent home run with the hospital estate will open in 2 or 3 weeks, but funds for the hospital are scarce as the Poor Sick of the Mother of God order struggles to obtain money from England. The hospital may not begin for at least a year, while the convalescent home awaits furnishings and heat. Sisters Mary Patrice and four others from England arrived last week and seek donations of beds, linens, and equipment as local residents bolster the project.
