Tremors Rattle Southport As City Sways In Night Quake

Five earth tremors shocked Southport last night causing panic and motion picture theatres to empty. The shocks began at 6 50 pm and subsided by 7 pm with minor damage none reported. The fish factory three miles away felt the tremors while Wilmington, 20 miles distant, remained unaffected. Telegraph lines stayed largely intact despite disrupted calls.
