Detective Captain John Murphy said Mary K. O Connor, 19, confessed to killing Nancy Glenn, five, in a Labor Day field near their homes in Philadelphia. O Connor was arrested at her grandparents’ home in Merchantville New Jersey and held on homicide charges in Camden awaiting extradition. The statement says Nancy asked to ride a bicycle, they argued, and O Connor struck her chin then covered the body with tin.
Four people were killed in a railroad crossing accident near Bossier City Louisiana on November 22. The victims were Gordon Eggleston 22 and Melvin Judson Johnson 30 both of Shreveport. Mrs Sadie Lapo 26 of Panama City Florida. and Mrs Jean Clancy 25 of Mobile Alabama.
Mrs. Nannie Montgomery Jones age 91 mother of Judge A. C. Jones of Gastonia North Carolina died at her Abingdon home last night. She was the widow of Maj. David A. Jones of Harrisonburg.
