State Board Won't Offer Recommendation on School Aid
Raleigh reports the state board of equalization will not recommend an amount for the equalization fund or broader school aid to the 1931 general assembly. The board has no duty to set next biennium funds, though it will present a report. A $100,000 reserve funds provision adds teachers in several counties, with specific allocations listed. Georgia's new sales tax, effective Oct 1 1929, raised 1 753 027 in its first year.
