School Board Approves Bennett Payment Amid Funding Doubt
The United Schools Committee reports Brown failed to secure federal funds for Bennett, leaving the board to cover 2000 from the expense fund. Three members opposed the payout while Evelyn Thompson urged moral obligation. In other business the board okayed a revised free lunch policy and appointed a hearing official. The district also approved two insurers to sell annuities to staff.
