Sandburg's Daughter Is Wed Civil ceremony links Sandburg to Crile

Miss Helga Sandburg, daughter of poet Carl Sandburg, married Dr. Georges Crile in a civil ceremony at the Court of General Sessions in Washington. The couple had planned a Cleveland Heights wedding, but a November visit to Sandburg at his North Carolina farm led to a simple union approved by the poet. Sandburg did not attend. gifts included three Nubian goats and a Sardinian donkey. Crile, 56, heads general surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, and Miss Sandburg, author of six books, has a son and daughter and a Seventh book due soon. Brown Is Given 3 Months

In Yanceyville AP Jas per Brown a 45 Negro farmer was sentenced in Superior Court to three months active road for wounding N L Oliver Jr 20 last January 22 in a school integration incident. He also received a 12-18 month road sentence suspended two years for wounding James Nixon in the same incident. Judge W H S Burgwyn ordered Brown to pay Oliver 236 for medical bills and lost wages and 8 for Nixon's doctor bill. Brown is released on $2 000 bond until December 16 when the sentence begins to allow crop gathering. Testimony described Brown asking to disperse a mob and contacting sheriff Daniels who said he could not intervene. Daniels later denied saying so. A former Bartlett Yancy principal Herman Hollander noted ongoing school tensions.
