The aging USS Sacramento, the famedGalloping Ghost of the China Coast, leaves active duty for a retirement berth in Michigan City Indiana. Once a frontline ship, she helped rescue crews during WWI and supported operations from Yokohama to Shanghai. Now she becomes a naval reserve training ship and will be kept from frontier seas.

Prominent Denton Woman Hannah G Cranford Dies at 77
Mrs Hannah G Cranford widow of Alson G Cranford and longtime Denton resident died at her Denton home at 2 am after years of declining health. She was 77 born June 6 1862 in Davidson County daughter of Clark and Nancy Haltom. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 30 pm at Central Methodist Church Denton with Rev George L Curry in charge, followed by burial in the church cemetery after a brief service at L C Crawford home in Denton. Survived by four sons O L L C of Denton Cameron of Farmers and Rev J D Crawford of Henderson, one brother Ed Haltom, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
