Pisgah Forest Becomes U S Federal Game Preserve
Asheville Nov 16 Pisgah National Forest near Biltmore in western North Carolina has been made a federal game preserve by presidential proclamation. The first of its kind east of the Mississippi, it will protect deer and wild turkey with hunting banned. Plans consider adding elk and buffalo herds this winter. Regulations for camping and fishing will be issued by the Agriculture Secretary with limited permits first season.
