Chinese troops aided by American air power pushed Japanese forces back along the central Yangtze sector. Reports say air support by the Sky Dragons and Western Allied bombers struck supply lines and gun positions, with Chinese forces claiming towns retaken northwest of Hankow. On the Salween-Yunnan front, six towns were taken and about a hundred invaders killed, amid continued Allied air operations in the region.
