Talk On Jamestown Festival Given For Local DAR Chapter
Alexander Martin Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution met at the home of Mrs. H. A. Millis on Tuesday November 12. Guests included Mrs. Jack Whitaker who spoke about her Jamestown Festival trip and Jamestown Virginia being America's birthplace. The group discussed Good Citizens selections from local high schools and planned gifts for the Junior Bazaar. A nominating committee was elected to propose new officers.

Local Couple Wed In South Carolina

Gas Explosions Mostly Noise at Cranston Plant
Two natural gas explosions at Cranston Print Works in Fletcher North Carolina brought firemen and an ambulance but caused no injuries. The plant, which uses steam from natural gas, was closed for several hours after the blasts were confined to the boiler room.
