Court delays ruling on bus service for city children
North Carolina Supreme Court will not decide before mid December if the state may fund free bus transportation for city pupils. The case stems from a federal order and a challenge by George Ragsdale who argues the General Assembly has forbidden such spending. If upheld, bus service for about 111000 children in 114 of 152 districts could be halted.
