March Route Compromised Riot Trained Troops Move Into Capital

End to routine childhood smallpox shots urged

Two researchers from the National Communicable Disease Center urged discontinuing routine childhood smallpox vaccination. Dr. J. Michael Lane and Dr. J. D. Millar said benefits no longer outweigh risks and that vaccination should target only high risk groups with vigilant outbreak control as the key to a smallpox free nation.
