Hanes faced a contempt citation for pretrial statements and posted a $1,000 bond. Ray appeared for under an hour, marking his first public appearance since arraignment in London. Foreman would not disclose how long he needs to prepare. King’s death sparked a massive FBI manhunt ending with Ray’s capture June 8.
