Jobs Seen As Help In Fight Against Delinquency
In New York's Lower East Side a joint effort by LENA and labor leaders places hard-to-find youth in jobs to curb gang involvement. Two teens have been placed, one on a Manhattan assembly line and another known as a gang hanger on. The program, RUN by CON TACT, aims to reach delinquent youths on the fence through steady work and supervision.
