Beverly Brooks, 15, who was believed dead and buried under another girl’s name, was released by authorities after proving via polygraph she had not been at the sites where the three corpse victims were last seen. Brooks had disappeared Sept 23 and later returned to her grandparents’ Greenville home, where police detained her as a material witness in the unknown girl’s death. The Reedy River victims include Kathy Ann Smith, 16, and Cynthia Jones, 17.
