Unknown Soldier Sermon by Foerick at Riverside Church 1932
Dr. Harry Emerson Foerick delivers a chastened critique of the Unknown Soldier sermonizing on war's costs. He recalls personal wartime service, laments conscription, and denounces how noble human faculties are used to wage violence, urging America and the church to renounce war. He questions glory myths and pledges to oppose future conflict.
