Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Trogdon of Asheboro celebrated 50 years of marriage at a reception at their 355 Worth St. home attended by about 350 guests. The couple, natives of the area, are remembered as prominent builders whose firm has shaped many regional homes, schools, churches, and business sites.

S E Trogdon and Son Inc led by S E Trogdon Sr. built churches including Freinds Meeting House and First Methodist in Asheboro. The family, active in civic groups, expanded to the Georgia Pacific Container Plant and the First National Bank building among projects in Alamance Forsyth and Randolph counties. The firm, incorporated in 1960, includes his three sons S E Jr Jim and Joe and sixteen grandchildren.

Sharon Tate was honored at a floating bridal shower hosted by Mrs. Alman Reames and Mrs. C. G. Nelson at the Nelson home on Valley Drive. About 25 guests attended as Tate received a white orchid corsage and a Corning Ware gift. Tate will marry Douglas Smith on December 22 at Central Alliance Church. Smith is in the U S Army at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
