Individual Responsibility For Democracy Cited On BPWC Banquet Program
Miss Earline White of Washington DC, former National Federation of Women’s Clubs president, urged BPWC delegates in Sedgefield NC to defend democracy through personal responsibility. She cited democracy’s crisis in American homes, praised European endurance, and warned Americans to avoid harsh critiques of leaders while recognizing democracy’s dependence on civic effort. The two day Mid Year Council featured Commodore Longfellow of the American Red Cross, autumn decor, and 87 delegates.
